TC/E Trim Tool Error in ProTools LE

Here's a puzzle for you.... I have a session that I was working on at my work, on a ProTools TDM system. In the session I was using the Time Compression / Expansion Trim Tool (TDM only). I saved, burned a ROM of the session and brought it to my home project studio. At my home studio I am running ProTools LE with the Digi001. When I opened the session I found that the trim feature was stuck on TC/E trim and when I tried to use it an error message popped up. It gets worse. Now my trim tool is stuck on TC/E. As a result, I can't use my trim tool on ANY sessions. I am trimless. Has anyone else out there experienced this? Is there a solution? Do I have to totally re-install? Please Help!!!!

If your trim tool is still stuck despite opening a new session, it sounds to me like a preferences issue. Try trashing your Pro Tools and DAE preference files. What an unusual bug! Phil

yes, that occurred to me last night. i trashed the prefs and everything's fine now... as long as i don't open that one session. an unusual bug indeed.

-Although you never mentioned what version of PT you are using, I was informed that this bug was fixed with PT 5.1.1. -In the meantime, you will have to get another copy of the session file with the Trim Tool set to the default selection. Brent
