Compressing and Rendering yields off center result

Hi guys... wondering what I am doing wrong, when I compress speech tracks heavily, the resultant waveform is always above or below the 'Zero line' is this bad technique on my part? What am I missing?

Thanks dude, let me try an offset killer. Hmmm, no difference. Seems like a hell of a lot of DC offset if it is...

I'm using the one shipped with Reaper, JS Filters DC Remove. Will try the HP filter.

Just a stab in the dark here, but some compressors process the 2 channels separately (which I prefer) and some key off of a summed signal. Try a different compressor just to see what the results are.
