You should have your Digidesign dealer do it. When we got our TDM system at work, our engineer recommended that the Digidesign dealer we bought our system from install, configure and test the system. It was going to cost 250 dollars or 500 dollars for a full-day, on-site visit. When I bought my 001 system, I was offered the same deal. But by that time I was familiar enough with computers and Pro Tools that I opted to do it myself. Still, there would actually be a large number of experienced professionals who would tell you that time was money and they'd rather be sure the system was set up right than be fighting technical battles and losing hours of studio time later. And I'm talking about some very technically adept people here who could unquestionably do it themselves but feel a couple hundred bucks to get the job done right (and have someone local to call if there are problems) is simply the smarter, more logical and professional way to proceed.
