Too many frame drops

I reencoded last night. Got my m2v file from cce. Got my audio from dvd2avi. Got my sub from vobedit. Got my chapters from ifoedit. I have done it this way many times before and it has worked great. My problem is at 4%, ifoedit says too many frame drops and closes on me. I tried authoring without the subs and it didn't work. What's causes frame drops and how do I fix it. The only thing I changed is in cce, I changed the extensions from mpv to m2v just so I could save just that fraction of time. Is there a way to change the extension of a file in XP. I don't want to waste this file after all this time.

RE: Too many frame drops

Well Mr. Doom, seeing that you feel that I am such a noob, I challenge you to find a thread that addresses this problem. I did a search using: too many frame drops "too many frame drops" frame drops "frame drops" too +many +frame +drops frame +drops I get the same results every time. The closest thread I get is this one: which starts off good, but then goes way awry of the original topic. If you are the expert here, and if this is such a newbie question, then you have no problem proving yourself here in front of everyone. You can even have all of your moderators help you. I have tried giving back to this forum in the best possible way that I can. I don't feel that this question has been answered at all. If you show me a thread that undoubtedly answers my question, and I don't get this error message anymore, then I will graciously leave your forum, never to return. You may ban me. You probably will after I post this anyway, but I hope that you don't. Just FYI, it is not the subtitles.

Sorry man. I snapped. I aplogize. Anyway, I figured out what I did. I had encoded a 16:9 video in 4:3 mode. Didn't find it in any threads though. Hope this helps someone in the future. Happy New Year (Doom especially)
