Help - Water Flooding problem

My wife drove through a 'puddle' on Friday and our 2003 V70 2.0 petrol Turbo Auto spluttered to a halt. 5 (yes 5) hours later the RAC turned up and towed her home. Car started 3 hours after that with a white cloud coming from the exhaust. Ran it for 2 minutes then I turned it off. Next morning car started fine. I repalced the air filter as it was very wet. Found some mayo on the underside of the oil cap so have replaced oil and oil filter. Checked this morning and no more mayo yet. Car sounds fine and runs fine. Any thoughts ? Have I got away with it or could there be problems to come ? Any help much appreciated.

Sounds as if you have got away with it. Lucky it never had a hydraulic lock when the water entered the intake just check the oil again and change on any sign of mayo. And don't forget the RAC and the AA have been up to their ears as others had same probs :-{ Regards Mike B

Valid point re the RAC Mike - the frustration my wife had was that she had our 2 year with her. However, others were worse off than us.

Some "puddle" to do that damage. Buy her a snorkle for xmas. If the car has started then chances are the con rods are fine, if it sucked in more water these could have bent, as happened to a mate in his saab. You should be ok now, What do you think about the acceleration? Tell the wife to press the peddle a bit harder.
