DAE can\'t be found

okay, stop the snickering... i just installed pro tools free for mac and when i tried to launch it, i got the dae can't be found and then a system 10 error requiring a restart. what's a dae and how do i get it into my computer? i'm operating a ppc w/g3 upgrade card at 400mhz with 136 mb of real memory and system 9.2.2. any help will go a long way towards continuing my musical career, such as it is.

Did you create an extension set for PTF, set the disc cache to 512K, and restart........ .....like it says in the reference guide? 136MB is awfully light on RAM for system 9. When was the last time you ran some system/disc maintenence utilities? Your not using Norton, are you?

You turned of virtual memory as well right? Apple menu-control panels-memory

to m.brane and marty martin; turns out that the problem was a matter of which hard drive i was using for installation. although i was installing to a scsi, i was doing it from an ata. even though i prompted ptf to install to the scsi, only the application folder was placed there. everything else went into the system folder of the ata hd. if i had been on the scsi so that i could make an extension set for ptf, there would have been "no problem, mahn". thanks again for the attention. all is well
