all you have to do is to install windvd or windvr or intervideo dvd xpack (though the last one is crap, destroys the whole system). then mpeg 2 will work everywhere, I have no probs with mpeg2 or dvd files in wmp or in tmpgenc

I have read that you should not have Media Player 9 installed. It will create problems for tmpgenc. Search the BBS at

RE: No MPEG2 in TMPGenc Plus?

Couldn't get the m2v.vfp method to work. Always got the read errors. Then I loaded Cyberlink Power DVD, still didn't work. At this point, I contacted Pegasys Inc. Turns out that Cyberlink has changed the specification, and so their mepeg-2 decoder no longer works with Tsunami. However, the following workaround does the trick: Load TMPGEnc, but do not open the mpeg-2 file. Open the file with Windows Media Player, run a few frames and then pause it. Leave WMP open, and then the mpeg-2 file should open in TMPGEnc without problem. WMP opens the file with DirectX, getting round the "overlay" output method.

It of course took me forever to make lha working and to extract the file but finally I've got it. Here it is M2V.VFP ZIPPED!
