DVD+R: How compatible are they?

I wish I bookmarked the site but an independant tester decided to test 35 DVD-players (yes, a small sample) with each of the format and he disovered that DVD+R played on the most, but hell if I recall the rest of the rankings in compatibility. There is also a compatibility chart at which seems to be fairly accurate but there have been discrepancies in some models because some revisions in the bios of the players were older and wouldn't play the DVD+R. Having said that, the problem could've also been in the media... And after having said all that YMMV. You could do what I did and buy a DVD+R/RW burner and test it out on various players before making a decision to keep it for good or return it. It drives me nuts that there isn't a concrete answer for this technology regarding any burner.... Phryday

CT also had a test and they basically found out that +R was as compatible as -R and -RW was less compatible than +RW unless I don't recall properly (not 100% sure about the RW stuff).
