Power Steering Failure- Help!

More V70 T5 problems, have just driven back home some 200 miles with no Power Steering, on inspection the rigid outlet pipe from the pump, the nut, was loose and the oil sprayed out. Have re-tightened but need to get new oil from Volvo. A couple of questions, will running the car without oil in the PS have damaged the pump? Secondly the day before I had the Throttle Body replaced, would the pump have needed to be removed to fit the Throttle Body? Thanks!

I had the same issue with my old S60...its a common issue apparently. You will overheat the pump if there is no fluid and you run it for long enough causing terminal damage. You'll know if youve done it though cos it will make nasty noises and wont work properly!

Many thanks, with a rare bit of good luck, refilled the oil tank and pump running fine which is a bit of a relief!
