Are there any Soft Synths or MIDI sounds being routed to the D-Verb?

No MIDI, No soft synths. Just 88.2kHz 24 bit audio files.

RE: Very Loud Noise/Reverb Sound When Opening Session

i just upgraded to a mac pro. opened a session (88.2kHz, FW800 on LaCie drive) and got this blast of white noise. did some checking... apparently this is a bug in d-verb, which i normally don't use. it was in this session, though, and when i made it inactive and reopened the session, no noise. activated it again, saved and closed, reopened, and there was that blast again. tried other plugs, and had no troubles. this session ran fine on a g4 under PTLE 7.0. so the problem is apparently with the intel mac version of d-verb. DIGI--this is a bug that needs fixing, and i believe i have found its source. please check it out and let us know what you can do.
