oh well now you see... you never mentioned nudge before... and sure, there are reasons to go to the external editor [Audition is my fav too]...but only when that is the best means to the end. Reaper has a great Nudge that you can set to do almost anything you want... look at the Actions list... type nudge in the filer at top find the one called Item: Nudge\set give it hot key to call it up... you'll see
