Very Loud Noise/Reverb Sound When Opening Session

Hello, I am running Protools LE v7.1cs8 with a Digi002R on a G5 1.8Ghz mac with OS 10.4.5. Recently when I open sessions a huge, enormously loud burst of white noise with reverb sound that lasts a few seconds occurs. It sounds like someone threw a guitar amp with spring reverb against the wall. The sound is so loud it makes me afraid I will blow out my speakers, not to mention it makes everyone in the room jump as if someone just fired a 357 magnum in the room. The sessions I am opening are 24 bit 88.2k AIF sessions. Recently I started to use insert buses for reverb. My Dverb plug in will be on a stereo aux input channel, and I will use the bus sends to send audio to this reverb channel. Could this sound be caused by having reverb on a Aux Input channel that is fed by a bus? This sound only occurs while a session is starting up. It sounds like a couple of seconds of really loud white noise going into a reverb so it takes a long time for the sound to die down. Anyone experience something similar to this? Thanks Jeff

Have you accidentally got an aux send on the d-verb track feeding back? I.E, D-verb aux is coming in on Bus 15-16 and the aux send on the D-verb is going to bus 15-16 causing a feedback loop? Cheers

Thanks for the suggestion. No, I don't have a feedback loop. Unfortunately, this has now blown out a tweeter on my B&W Matrix 805s. Great! Is anyone else experiencing this?

Hi Jeff, I had a go with updating all my firmware and reinstalling, but the same things happens. Do you find that if you restart your system and open PT you don't get the problem? If so, do you think it might be something to do with the way OS X (assuming you are using OS X) is handling the USB connection with the audio? Let me know if you manage to solve this. Rob

Thanks everyone for your responses so far. More details on this problem. Remember, I am using a Digi002R and not an M-box. Also, the problem is not random and only occurs when you open a session. When opening a session in Protools 7LE, a window pops up that says various things like "activating Aux Send..." with a progress bar. When it gets to activating the send the has D-Verb on it, that is when the noise occurs. I have a stereo Aux channel with D-verb on it, set to 100% wet. Any ideas?
