... Myself and 2 others, who worked as a team, were commissioned to write, perform, and mix/"master" three reggae songs for an independent movie. We had to fight it out with 3 other "bands" or "companies" and won the bid... and we had the highest asking price. which admittedly wasn't a ton of money, but really good experience. So basically, we wrote up a contract with the help of the singer's partner, got the songs done on the deadline, and are getting paid for it (already have half). I realize I dont have any clips to show right now, but I will, when I get the OK. These are going to be part of our catalog I guess. There has been a lot going on with me this summer with music, but this is really a first for me! I was part of the writing and performance part, and besides garnering feedback, I was the sole mixer and "master" guy. Reaper helped all the way! Initially, it was just the keyboard player and I coming up with some grooves and melodies for the songs, recorded into a zoom h4n. I took these ideas home, laid down a bed of music in reaper, and rendered a wav The singer recorded in his PT studio 20 miles away, with a wav of the music bed we had come up with, solo'ed each track and rendered his vocal tracks for me, sent them via dropbox, and I mixed them here, and added embellishments. he has reaper there, but he is *slightly* more familiar with PT. This method worked fine for us, and even enabled a last minute vocal track to be thrown in. all in all, the workflow I have with reaper is just great :D
