I think the point made often in the GS thread that there's a whole lot more to converter quality and sound than one of the components (even the actual A/D or D/A) is a very good one. Two converters can operate with the same clock and same D/A//A/D and still sound different (to the degree that converters differ which is subtle for the most part in today's technology). Doesn't invalidate a list like this, information is inherently valuable in my view (context is almost always cobbled out of a wide variety of info), but it's good to keep in mind.
