I don't have experience with Yamaha but I can recommend you Line6 TonePort (or newer version POD Studio). Regarding your budget and requirements POD Studio UX1 would be ok. But keep in mind it has no phantom power (UX2 has but it is more expensive). I own TonePort UX2 and I can tell you it's great for home recording.

Yeah, the Audiogram3 is selling like hotcakes and getting good reviews. It's also half the price of the Line6 stuff and has more features (new models with PodFarm are quite expensive). It has phantom power and is a nicely laid out desktop volume controller/pre amp. I haven't tried it with Reaper, but considering Yamaha own Cubase, I'm sure the ASIO drivers are solid. I'm not anti-Line6 (I have a KB37) but with the recent prices the Line6 stuff is a bit of a rip. I think the Yamaha stuff is of equal quality.

Bear in mind that it utilises USB 1.1 and that it seems to be restricted to 16 bit/44.1kHz (at least that's what the Yamaha product page shows). May or may not be an issue for you. cheers, 3dmus

USB 1.1 will allow up to 24 bit/48 kHz recording, but a max of 4 streams, which must include the output too...unless you switch that off. Yamaha is a fantastic company!!! My first 4 track was Yamaha and beat all other cassette 4 tracks hands down. My keyboard S80 is Yamaha (circa 2001) and is awesome still). They are a solid company.

I think 3dmus is correct. The sound is restricted to 16bit/44.1 on the Audiogram 3
