AARGHHHHHH Reaper always opening a plugin window when I click the FX button

As it says, I don't like it that Reaper always opens up a plugin window when you click on a track/master FX button! It's usually a plugin that I don't want to edit, so I have to close it. Is there an option somewhere that disables this behaviour. I've tried every option in the preferences for VST plugins and in the FX panel :(

But I want to open the FX window, it's just my preferred work flow. Like rearranging the order of them and other things. I just wish there was a switch/option to disable this behaviour, it's seriously annoying :(

I think he wants to open the track's effect rack, but without having any plugin windows open - just the list.

this only happens with 'bridged' plugins, ie 64bit in a 32 bit host, or 32bit in a 64 bit host. Pretty sure you can embed the UI on those can't you? basically, the 'normal' mode is that the plugin gui sits where it says 'bridged plugin may be op...' on your screen shot. not in it's own window.

I see, but I would still prefer the FX rack didn't show the plugin interface until I want it too. Takes up too much space. Can this be set in options somewhere?
