i can't afford the higher 1 gig duals right so i'll probably get a dual 867 MDD. do you think that would be much faster than what i have now. thanks for your replies.

RE: thinking about getting a dual processor g4

i may be looking for a new computer shortly, as well. i have an older G3 with a G4 upgrade in it, running at 500 MHz and 640MB RAM. i can't record anything on the machine, though, without getting an error message refering to the USB over running CPU usage, even though the CPU meter shows very little usage. ??? i have MAC OS X 10.3.2 and Pro tools 6.7 is there something i'm missing from my set-up on this machine, or is it just not cut out for Pro Tools? i'll use it for strictly recording, and it's not even hooked to the internet. have all of my buffers set, and have turned off the sleep functions. any ideas would be helpful. thanks!
