9.2.2 vs. Panther with 001

I'm running 9.2.2 on a Sawtooth G4 (400MHz) with a 001 (PT5LE) and a ton of plug-ins. Stable. Beautiful. Must finally make the jump to OSX for photos, iPod, etc. Should I upgrade to PT6.4 LE to keep things consistent, or can I run both OSs on a single processor to stay in the stable 9.2.2 world with audio production while having access to OSX for the iLife goodies?? Your thoughts are appreciated!

Don't forget....you cannot run the 001 with PT6.x under OSX...you will have to upgrade your hardware interface. isn't Digidesign the best? ("snort")

A-ha! So I guess it's OS9.2/PT5/Audio tracks on my main HD, and Panther/iLife on my second internal HD. Sound right!? Thanks again for the advice.

Gotcha. Thanks. (That's why I originally installed a 2nd drive -- to be used as an audio-dedicated drive -- but this OS9-to-OSX business conjures up HOURS of preferences hassles and other tweaking...so it's scaring the Mac common sense right out of me!)

We installed Panther and PT6 and were up and running on both OS platforms in about 30 minutes with absolutely no problems.

that would be correct, you most definitely CAN run PTle6.4 and earlier with an 001. We've been running OSX Panther and PTle 6.3 here with no problems with the 001. However version 6.4 is the last that the 001 will be compatible with.
