PT7 weird quantize issue

When I track a bass part and then quantize either in real time or in the quantize window the attacks are all cut short. It sounds like I've set all the durations to 1/16th!?! I've tried preserving duration etc. but nothing seems to cure it. Anyone else having this issue, or any suggestions what I could be doing wrong? If I use Trilogy and increase the Release time on the AMP envelope that helps it or if I depress my sustain pedal while it plays but this is really weird... please help!

make sure preserve note durations is checked in the quantize box. what controller are you using to program the material? if the drums are double triggering that could be problematic.

Yeh done that with the preserve duration, no change. The controller is a M-Audio Pro Keys 88. Anyone else got any ideas?
