Does anyone know if there is a way to save a mixer snapshot in Protools. I normally just save diffrent sesions, but its a ball ache, especially if it a big sesion, and you just wanna try some diffrent panning settings, and then compare the two. It takes like 3 minutes to change sesions. I f anyone knows, please help

if you're using a mac you can shift+command+3, a picture is then taken from whatever's on your screen, but if I were you I'd learn how to use "import session data" cheers

I couldnt agree with Jeremy more. Get out of the chair and walk around or you'll end up with a herniated disc like I have. It's no fun!

Unfortunately it can take 3 minutes to close a session / open another one (NOT quitting ProTools). I'm not sure what the record has been amongst my colleagues, it was definitely over 5 minutes for a very busy FX tracklay - those lovely little fade files are amongst the main culprits, 2 of them for every FX clip...

RE: Mixer snap shot

Yes, 3 minutes is not terribly unusual for a large session. Although I can typically swap sessions in about a minute, some sessions do take up to 3 minutes to load (and up to a minute for the previous session to close) This thread reminds me of a producer I occasionally work with who can't stand the silence while a CD is burning at 16x realtime. Have we forgotten where we came from? I look at this like, "look how great this is - it ONLY takes 2 minutes to restore a mix" But then, I'm an old guy. Damn, never thought I'd be saying that here...
