How do I change the frozen status of radio which turned 'OFF' after 2 successfull attmpts of entering the code. Kindly advise if any one has got any info about this. Now I have received the correct code from main dealer and just waiting for that screen to be cleared ... will this resolve If I disconnect the battery once again?
You have to leave the ignition key in position 1 (with the radio displaying 'OFF') for two hours straight before it refreshes. It's annoying and ironic given the intended nature of the 'security code' (the clue's in the name). When the bodyshop did this to me back in December, I took the opportunity to give the car a decent clean, polish and vacuum.
the timer function is activated, by disconnecting the batt will not reset the timer. If you have only input the code twice the unit should not say off in the display it should go tho code straight away agin. the radio should only say "off" after the 3rd incorrect entry. I suspect the eprom ic is faulty and needs replacing. i can repair the unit for you if all else fails. you can send the unit to CENTRAL SERVICES (IPSWICH) 188 SPRING ROAD IPSWICH SUFFOLK IP45NR 01473 725953 REGARDS MARCEL Ignition should be in pos 1 and radio turned on
I have found in the past that you will need to wait considerably more than two hours for the system to clear. I have had to leave the ignition switch in position 1 for up to 12 hours with the radio 'on'. I did have the advantage of being able to do this in a secure area - I realise that trying tghis 'on the road' is not really an option for some people. As Marcel advises the 'OFF' notice should not appear until the third failure to correctly enter the code. I also recall that repeated failed attempts after that to enter the code will result in the 'position 1 time lapse' being extended.
