3 crashes in an afternoon of work

Hi, Just to mention that my comp crashed 3 times in an afternoon of work with v3.05. It's not just that reaper did shut down suddenly, it's the whole system that blocked and freezed, obliging me to reboot manually. Each time if twas after having made a simple and quite basic operation (moving an item or so, moving the transport line), maybe a little fast but just that kind of manipulation. I didn't install 3.06 yet to know if it still occurs or no, but it's a situation that I find annoying and troubling. P.S.s : didn't know where to put the thread, here or in the general forum, so I put it in both, don't hesitate to erase the useless one.

Sorry for the trouble, but we do need more information than this to be able to help. The most useful thing is to know whether the problem is with Reaper crashed or a specific plugin. Were all three crashes with the same project (meaning the same plugins)?

Been stable with me too, try 306. You might still have a bug report you could file even on a freeze. Sounds like hardware. Not an expert but there are two settings at the bottom of audio device preferences that i've read can help with these crashes. Not at reaper now though to quote their names, sorry.

Once again... One hour of work. I move the time bar to a point I push the space bar of my keyboard to launch the playback. all the comp is frozen. no more mouse. No more keyboard. nothing. Apart from another one hour work loss which reminds me of the time when working on Cubase VST we had to save each time we did something because of the possibility of crashes - which goes back in the 1998s or so with Windows 98, I thought such ways of working were belonging to the past - I am forseeing to bring this project on stage for concerts of my band and to play on it during the Fall. Is there any chance that I manage to find the problem and to go on stage with a stable system, not with one that, at each time I play start, will force me to cross my fingers and to pray not to have my comp freezing in front of the audience ? if you're getting crashes, enable autosave every couple of minutes until you work out what's causing it. at least then you won't lose any work. reaper is rock solid here (and in most places). when things go wrong, it's usually either - running out of RAM, bad plugin (what's that convolution reverb you're using? haven't heard of it), or bad driver.

Is there anyhing in the Windows event viewer? This is obviously not a problem that can be reproduced systematically yet so there's unfortunately nothing specific we can do to help. With Reaverb, what kind of impulse generator are you using?

Sounds disk or motherboard related. I heavily recommend you make sure your backups are up to date.

May be another cause but I had so many problem with 3.05 including crash from very first moments that I skipped over it. No problem with 3.06 so far except non-working waveout but that was already in 2.xx
