Roland TD4 vDrum To Separate Tracks?

If anyone can comment, I have searched and not found a definite answer for TD4. I am traveling with my computer to an old friends to have him lay tracks for me this weekend. I have Reaper with Superior Drums 2.0. He has the Roland TD4 vDrum kit. The TD4 has left/right outs and a midi output. It does not have outs for each drum as some of the others have. Will I be able to map the TD4 single MIDI out cable signal to separate tracks in Reaper triggering the SD2.0 samples? I will be connecting the TD4 midi cable to the Presonus Firebox midi in. If I can't do this I will be very disappointed. I have been using the drum templates on here to map the SD2.0 sample beats to separate tracks already in Reaper so, I have that going for me. Thanks, Rich

Another really cool tool to use is the FREE 'mididrum' from: (LOTS of great midi utilities on that page...) Mididrum will take a midi file and make separate tracks based on note (saving it as a multi-track midi file you can then bring back into Reaper...)

RE: Roland TD4 vDrum To Separate Tracks?

Thanks for the additional info. I wanted to say that the recording up in Chicago went very well. I inserted one of the SD2.0 templates from the forum here, plugged the midi out on the TD4 to the midi in on the Firebox, armed the main drum track with all midi channels selected and hit record. Everything worked out of the box so to speak. I had the midi track plus separate tracks for each drum and cymbal. There were some quirks were we couldn't get the bell on the cymbal to come across as a bell and choking didn't work. My drummer friend says both of those things work on the TD4 when monitoring the TD4 unit. Thanks everyone for the help and tips. Rich
